The release of the Halloween and Christmas ranges from Lush is both a blessing and a curse for bloggers such as myself, who suddenly find themselves with an abundance of products they need to explore and write about. While my operative is always to indulge myself with all of the new limited editions and gage the excitement of such a vast and impressive collection, a small part of me will always be itching to get behind the keyboard and write about all of these wonderful items.
When presented with an abundance of brand new exclusives to test out for the first time, I had no idea where to start, and that was when I noticed Autumn Leaf Bath Bomb balancing precariously amidst the collection of Halloween ballistics in Lush Oxford Street. Everything about it drew me in and I knew I had found the beginning of my pathway into this year's seasonal selection.
There is something very magical and slightly unique about Autumn Leaf Bath Bomb - a product that was released as part of the Halloween range this year, yet one that doesn't possess the typical traits that I've come to acknowledge is part and parcel of the Lush Halloween experience. With no skulls or pumpkins, witches or ghouls attached to this beautiful looking ballistic, its a bit of an anomaly - instead celebrating the passing of summer into those colder, autumnal days, and therefore cements itself as a bath bomb that isn't limited to the season it has been released in.
Sharing its scent with Grass Shower Gel and bubble bar, this bath bomb is, from the very first glance, stunning. The layers of pastel green, yellow and pink really set it apart from every other bomb available, and the fragrance works beautifully to create a product nearing perfection. What I love about this (and many other recently-released products) is that Lush have gone to great efforts to tell a story with their designs and use of colour. This particular bath bomb represents the colour changing of leaves and the warm, golden orange colour that the bath water turns after using one these, represents this season perfectly.
Containing a combination of neroli, sandalwood and maple sap, this product gives off a fresh but earthy aroma - a beautifully refreshing and uplifting combination that mimics the scent of freshly-cut grass with just a hint of sweetness to elevate each and every note.
It's easily one of Lush's more natural-smelling bath bomb to date, and as I said in my review of Grass Shower Gel, the smell of this is a great one to use all year round, despite it's scent being reminiscent of those warmer, more favourable months. In the winter, it would work as a form of escapism from those unsavoury chills and frosty weather conditions; in the summer, it would cleanse and refreshen your body and remove that clammy feeling you sometimes feel after a hot day.In the water the bath bomb is mostly a slow fizzer - traveling across the surface of the tub and leaving a stream of yellow and orange foam in its wake. I say mostly because I found that the yellow segment fizzed and dissolved fairly quickly, while the green section was slow at melting and instead frothed up on the surface of the water.
What impressed me was that the scent was wonderfully strong in the bath tub and this stayed throughout the entire experience. This meant that when I exited the bath, I had not only a lovely smell on my skin that stayed with me for an hour or two, but I also found my bathroom was permeated with the scent for several hours afterwards.Overall, this is a wonderful new addition to the Lush family and I am definitely planning on buying a small handful of these before the end of the season. If you've looking for something warming and beautiful to keep you company this autumn, I strongly believe that Autumn Leaf Bath Bomb is a strong contender for my favourite new bath bomb this season.
